Sage's Close Call

Sage is an adorable small mixed breed dog. The owner came into Faithful Frends Veterinary Clinic with concerns that Sage was not herself and was worried about her. Faithful Friends veterinarians quickly determined that Sage was suffering from Pyometra which is a serious and life-threatening infection of the uterus in female dogs. It requires urgent treatment. While some mild cases can be managed with antibiotics and supportive care, most veterinarians recommend surgery for the best prognosis. The surgical procedure involves an exploratory spay to remove the infected uterus. However, this surgery can be costly which was outside the means of the owner. Dr. Henricks of Faithful Friends reached out to OPC for assistance, and OPC helped with the cost of the surgery, and Sage came through the procedure with flying colors, and is home and happy with her owner.
