Sage, a sweet and lovable small mixed-breed dog, suddenly wasn’t acting like herself. Worried for her well-being, her owner brought her to Faithful Friends Veterinary Clinic, where veterinarians quickly diagnosed her with Pyometra—a severe and life-threatening infection of the uterus that requires urgent medical intervention.
While some mild cases can be managed with antibiotics, surgery is often the best course of action to ensure a full recovery. Unfortunately, the cost of this critical procedure was beyond what Sage’s owner could afford. Determined to save Sage’s life, Dr. Henricks of Faithful Friends reached out to OPC for assistance.
Through the Furry Friends Fund, OPC stepped in to help cover the cost of the life-saving surgery. Sage underwent an exploratory spay to remove the infected uterus, and thanks to the expert care of Faithful Friends, she came through the procedure with flying colors!
Today, Sage is back home, happy and healthy, enjoying life with her loving owner.
This is why we do what we do—helping pets get the care they need to live long, happy lives. 💙🐾
